Driving Directions
FROM YYT (St. John’s International Airport)
Leave the airport on World Parkway, and at the roundabout, take the second exit towards Portugal Cove Road.
Take a left onto Portugal Cove Road.
Continue straight, pass Tim Hortons, Dairy Queen, and then Holiday Inn and East Side Marios.
About a half-minute or so past East Side Mario’s, there will be a fork in the road. Keep left, which is New Cove Road.
At the next major intersection (Jumping Bean Coffee, Pipers), continue straight.
You’ll eventually come to the end of New Cove Road at Kings Bridge Road (King’s Bridge Auto will be on your right). Take a right onto Kings Bridge Road.
Come up over the hill, and you’ll come to a really bizarre intersection, with Johnny and Mae’s Food Truck and St. Thomas’s Church on your right, and the Sheraton Hotel on your left.
The immediate right is Military Road. NOT this one. The next road to the left of this one (at around your 2:00) is Gower Street. Go down this one!
We are about a half a block down on the right. Number 20. It’s a blue house with a red door, and a bright yellow fire hydrant right out front.
PARKING: All parking is on-street on Gower Street and in the area. There is rarely a problem finding parking. Note it is resident permit parking. However, the number of times a guest has gotten a ticket is rare. If you feel nervous about this, St. Thomas’ Church (back at the corner of Military Road and Kings Bridge Road has a parking lot, and you can purchase permits directly from the church office.
FROM POINTS WEST
Driving east on the Trans Canada Highway Route 1 (TCH).
Take exit 41A to merge onto NL-2 East (Pitts Memorial Drive) towards Mount Pearl/St. John’s.
Take the exit labeled Water Street East/Harbour Drive.
At the intersection Water Street/Harbour Drive (Boston Pizza ahead of you on the right) take a right onto Harbour Drive.
The end of Harbour Drive will curve around to the left and become Job’s Cove. This street is very short. Go through this first intersection to the next intersection Prescott Street/Duckworth Street (there will be a little park ahead of you on your right, left, and a photography studio on your left. Turn right here. You are now on Duckworth Street.
Pass Fred’s Records, Sun Sushi, and Caines Grocery and Deli on your left.
At the intersection of Wood Street on your left (Doubletree Hotel and Little Sparo Restaurant on your right), take a right onto Wood Street.
At the end of Wood Street is Gower Street. The Postmaster’s House is at about 11 o’clock. Number 20. It’s a blue house with a red door, and a bright yellow fire hydrant right out front.
